From Code to Models

چکیده
One of the corner stones of formal methods is the notion that abstraction enables analysis. By the construction of an abstract model we can trade implementation detail for analytical power. The intent of a model is to preserve selected characteristics of real-world artifact, while suppressing others. Unfortunately, practitioners are less likely to use a modeling tool if it cannot handle realworld artifacts in their native format. The requirement to build a model to enable analysis is often seen as a verdict to design a system twice: once in a verification language and once in an implementation language. Because the implementation phase cannot be skipped, verification is

Comparison of Different Model Predictions on RBE in the Proton Therapy Technique Using the GATE Code
Recently, proton therapy is used as one of the effective methods for treating various types of cancer in clinical treatment. An appropriate formalism to obtain relative biological effectiveness values for treatment planning studies is needed in this hadrontherapy technique. Hereby, the quantity of biological dose, instead of using the physical doses, is introduced to evaluate the biological eff...
متن کاملAggrandizing the beast's limbs: patulous code reuse attack on ARM architecture
Since smartphones are usually personal devices full of private information, they are a popular target for a vast variety of real-world attacks such as Code Reuse Attack (CRA). CRAs enable attackers to execute any arbitrary algorithm on a device without injecting an executable code. Since the standard platform for mobile devices is ARM architecture, we concentrate on available ARM-based CRAs. Cu...
متن کاملNumerical Predictions of Turbulent Mixed Convection Heat Transfer to Supercritical Fluids Using Various Low Reynolds Number k-e Turbulence Models
There are a number of systems in which supercritical cryogenic fluids are used as coolants or propellant fluids. In some modern military aircraft, the fuel is pressurized above its critical point and used as a coolant to remove heat from the aircraft engine. Accurate prediction of heat transfer coefficients to turbulent flows of supercritical fluids is essential in design of such systems. One o...

Panel zone is one of the most important elements for transferring the lateral load to other elements in Steel Moment Resistant Frames. To some extent, this element through its suitable ductile behavior with beams, that themselves have been known as ductile elements, can increase the overall ductility of SMRF. The suitable design procedure for this element and details, can highly affect the perf...
متن کاملInvestigating the Role of Code Smells in Preventive Maintenance
The quest for improving the software quality has given rise to various studies which focus on the enhancement of the quality of software through various processes. Code smells, which are indicators of the software quality have not been put to an extensive study for as to determine their role in the prediction of defects in the software. This study aims to investigate the role of code smells in ...
متن کاملA 3D elasto-plastic FEM program developed for reservoir Geomechanics simulations: Introduction and case studies
The development of yielded or failure zone due to an engineering construction is a subject of study in different disciplines. In Petroleum engineering, depletion from and injection of gas into a porous rock can cause development of a yield zone around the reservoir. Studying this phenomenon requires elasto-plastic analysis of geomaterial, in this case the porous rocks. In this study, which is a...
